Continuing the Legacy of AACF
Give a Little...Change a Life: I Am AACF
2018 - 2019 Annual Report
Give a little… Change a Life. These simple words were chosen by the African-American Community Fund (AACF) Advisory Board as this year’s theme. They capture the spirit of our founders, encapsulate AACF’s mission
to promote philanthropy in the African American community and improve the lives of the people we serve in Greater Dayton. These words also embody the work that AACF’s Board and donors continue to do, which is highlighted in
this year’s annual report.
Our 2018-19 fiscal year was highlighted by our Inaugural Fundraising Breakfast in February, which touted almost 180 in attendance and raised almost $10,000 for the John E. Moore, Sr. and Lloyd E. Lewis, Jr. Community Impact Fund. Additionally, this year the African-American Community Fund has awarded $19,500 in grants and has opened 13 new funds under the AACF umbrella. We concluded 2019 with the second AACF Gala
celebration that brought together donors and supporters!
We have a lot to be proud of and celebrate, but the work of
the Advisory Board continues. I’m amazed when someone
approaches me at an event or one of our workshops and says,
“I didn’t know this organization existed until now. How can I get
involved?” Our goal is to continue the mission of our founders and
raise awareness of the African-American Community Fund in the
community and inspire people to Give a Little and Change a Life.
On behalf of the AACF Advisory Board, we appreciate the
contributions of our donors, fund holders, and historical board
members. I am excited about the direction AACF is headed in
and what we can do together!
President, African-American Community Fund
